Sun Valley landscaping

What makes a yard in Sun Valley different from the rest of the valley?

Sun Valley sits in the northeast corner of the San Fernando Valley, and it does not read like the tract neighborhoods further south. Residential streets run right up against commercial and industrial property here, so the character shifts block by block. One street is quiet and lined with older homes, and the next has a working yard at the end of it. That mix changes what a landscape has to do. A front yard in Sun Valley is often working harder than it looks, softening a view, holding down dust, and giving the house an identity that stands on its own. The ground is largely flat, and that is a real advantage. Level lots keep grading simple and keep layouts straightforward for patios, driveways, walkways, and turf. The homes are mostly older and modest, on regular lots, and a great many of them still carry their original irrigation and hardscape. We open a lot of tired valve boxes in this city. We break out a lot of concrete that has been patched more than once and is finally past saving. Renovation is a large share of the work here, because the bones of these properties are worth keeping while the systems around them are worn out. Summers are hot and dry, and most of these yards sit in full sun with very little shade to hide behind. Every decision leans toward durability and water efficiency as a result. Drought tolerant planting, properly zoned drip irrigation, artificial turf where a lawn will never truly survive, and hardscape built to take heat all earn their place. Along the northern edge, equestrian pockets mark where Sun Valley meets the horse keeping communities, and those properties bring their own priorities around footing, dust, and open ground. Our range covers landscaping, hardscaping, artificial turf, concrete and masonry, irrigation, landscape lighting, outdoor living, renovations, and landscape design, all Built under one licensed contractor.
